Camron (Born as Cameron Giles) was born on February 4th, 1976 in Harlem, New York. He is mostly known for being the founder of the Diplomats aka Dipset. Sometime around 1995 Camron began his music career rapping with Big L, Mase and Bloodshed in their group, “Children of The Corn”. In 1997, Bloodshed (who was Camron’s cousin) died in a car accident and the group broke up. Mase introduced Cam’ron to Notorious BIG, who in turn introduced Cam to his manager Lance Rivera who eventually would sign Cam’ron to his label.
In July of 1998 he released his first album, “Confessions of Fire”. In 1999 the label he was signed to, Untertainment, collapsed and Cam was taken on by Epic Records. On october 23rd, 2005 in Washington D.C. Cam’ron was shot three times during a attempted carjacking shortly after leaving a nightclub at Howard University. A fan drove him to the Howard University Hospital. Cam has refused to help the police to find his shooter. Many believe the shooting was a publicity stunt.
