Camron’s beef with 50 Cent
On February 1st of 2007 Cam’ron and 50 cent confronted each other on a Hot 97 radio show about 50 cent calling Koch Records and artists graveyard. 50 defended his statement by pointing out the number of artists who signed with Koch after being dropped from major record labels. Cam’ron responded by dissing members of G-unit for having low record sales, including Lloyd Banks and Mobb Deep. Cam’ron was cut off the air and 50 cent left the station. Cam’s label mate Jim Jones called in and tried to clear up Cam’s comments.
50 Cent released a diss track targeted at Cam’ron entitled “Funeral Music”. On the song 50 cent says that Cam’s deal with Koch proves that his rap career is ending. Cam responded with a track called “Curtis” that aired on Hot 97. On the track Cam states that 50 cent snitched on him and reported him to his parole officer. Cam criticizes 50 cent for adopting the name of the infamous gangster Kelvin Martin aka 50 cent. Cam’ron also calls 50 a “gorilla with rabbit teeth” and “bugs monkey”.
