Kanye attended the American Academy of Art and Columbia College in Chicago, but dropped out to pursue his music career. While still in school, West produced beats for several local artists. Kanye was involved in a car crash after falling asleep behind the wheel on October 23rd, 2002. He broke his jaw in 3 place and barely survived the crash. The crash was a huge influence on Kanye’s first single “Through the Wire”. After recovering he became a born again Christian.
