Lil’ Wayne is the BET Champ!

Well, It is Wayne’s World! The rapper was nominated for 12 BET Hip-Hop Award, reassuring everyone in the industry that 2008 was all for Mr. Wayne. Lil Wayne received nomination for Best Video (”Lollipop”) and the Lyricist of the Year and MVP of the Year categories among others. The Carter III has been the best-selling album of the year he also has been appearing & performing on almost every award show in 2008.

Other award nominations for Kanye West who recieved seven nominations and Jay-Z achieved six. This includes Track of the Year for ‘Roc Boys and Best Live Performer and Hustler of the Year. T.I., who was arrested hours before last year’s award show, received three. Def Jam Records founder Russell Simmons will be recognized with the “I Am Hip-Hop” award. The show is expected to be shown on October 23rd to the public and is hosted by comedian Katt Williams.
