Slick Rick (Richard Walters)

 Born on January 14th 1965, Richard Walters went under many aliases such as Slick Rick, MC Ricky D and the Ruler. Originating from South Wimbledon, London he emigrated with his family in 1975 to The Bronx, this is where he learned how to rap by the notorious Prince Charmz. As an infant Rick was blinded in his right eye by broken glass and wore an eye patch which gave him a unique and well known characteristic, his first release was back in the early 1980’s performing with Doug E Fresh and the Get Fresh Crew. In 1991 he shot a bystander and spent five years in prison for second degree attempted murder. While in prison, Rick recorded his third album, Behind Bars and then upon release in 1998 came his fourth album which had performances with some of the greatest rappers of our time. There are rumors that Rick is planning another album release in 2007 but has never been officially confirmed and it also mentioned that he is waiting for a more mature audience before his comeback.
