While growing up Chris and Neef started selling drugs to make money in hopes of moving out of the hood. Neef began rapping and encouranged his friend Chris to quit hustling and form a rap group. Jay-Z gave the two a shout out on his Blueprint album, but the two had to keep selling drugs as they received very little attention or opportunities from their label. The Young Gunz first popular single was “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop”, from their Chain Gang album. The song and accompanying music video received a lot of radio and music television play.
