Yukmouth (Jerold Dwight Ellis)

Yukmouth (born Jerold Dwight Ellis) on October 18th, 1974 in Oakland, CA. Yukmouth’s early succes was as a member of the rap duo that included Numskull, Luniz. Their largest commercial success was the song “I got 5 on it” that helped promote their album into platinum status. After Luniz, Yukmouth signed a recording deal with JPrince’s Rap-A-Lot label as a solo artist.

Under Rap-A-Lot, Yukmouth released three albums all selling atleast 200k copies. Yukmouth started his own label, Smoke-A-Lot Records, that has produced and released several DVD’s including United Ghettos of America, Volumes 1 and 2. Yukmouth is a member of the groups Thug Lordz, and The Regime. Yukmouth is very popular in the Oakland rap scene and has worked with several prominent bay area artists including E-40, Dru Down, Juelz Santana, Shock G, Tech N9ne, the late Mac Dre, Lil’ Flip, Kurupt, Ray J and Bun B.
