Chino XL (Born Derek Barbosa) was born on April 8th, 1971 in the Bronx, New York. He was raised in New Jersey and is well respected for his battling abilities. He is infamous for his exaggerated egotism in his punchlines. He is the nephew of Bernie Worrell of Parliament / Funkadelic.

Chino XL is often a guest on Sway and Tech’s radio show on Power 106 in Los Angeles. He often remixes or rewrites lyrics to popular songs to incorporate people from Sway and Tech’s show.

He is also known for being a huge fan of other Classic Hip Hop Artists. On one occasion he recorded a song called ‘3 To The Dome’ for Sway and Tech with Big Daddy Kane and Kool G Rap. After the recording session Kool G Rap threw away the paper with his rhymes, and Chino went into the trash and took out the rhymes because he was such a big fan of Kool G Rap.
