Rapper Booked on Reckless Driving Charges

DMX was arrested in Phoenix, AZ on Tuesday after traffic cameras caught the rapper speeding on a city freeway.

The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested at his home and charged with several driving offenses that were captured on camera on January 21.

DMX was driving a yellow Chevrolet when he was recorded driving 114mph in a 65mph zone. He was charged with criminal speeding, public endangerment, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.

He posted bond and was released soon after his arrest.

DMX has crossed pathes several times with the law in recent years, most recently he was at the centre of controversy a month ago when students were maced at a campus college show at which he was performing.

Contracted security officers used mace on the crowd, who objected to the power being cut due to curfew. Subsequent reports in the Indiana Daily Student said the security firm was not sanctioned by Indiana University, or the police department, and the individuals who used mace were not identified.
