Ice Cube (Born O’Shea Jackson) was born on June 15, 1969 in South Central, Los Angeles. At the age of 16 Cube began rapping while attending Taft High School. His cousin Del The Funkee Homosapien is said to have ghost written much of his early work. Cube is one of the founding members of the infamous rap group N.W.A. In the mid 90s Cube began focusing on acting, and put music on the back burner. He is one of the original gangster rappers who fathered the style.
