Lil Wayne Sued After A Stampede During His Performance
During a homecoming concert at Morgan State University last year, Lil Wayne began “making it rain” by throwing hand fulls of cash into the crowd while setting up for his next song, “Money on My Mind”. As the money rained down on the crowd, the students began rushing the stage. While the stampeding students scrambled for money a 20 year old junior named Carlisa Dixon was smashed into a metal barricade and was impaled in the left thigh by a fence support, she was treated and under went surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She has since filed a $1 million suit with the Baltimore City Court in hopes of retribution for the embarrassment, scarring and disfigurement she received as a result of her injuries.
Carlisa is not the only one who sustained injuries during the show. Another student, Tyrique Layne brought suit against Lil Wayne, claiming that she too was trampled during the performance, causing head trauma and that she now suffers from cognitive deficits.
No criminal charges have been brought against Lil Wayne. A school spokesperson noted that the majority of the bills Lil Wayne threw out into the crowd were $1 dollar bills, but that most students could not tell and only saw that there were bills being thrown.
