The group Mobb Deep, consists of members Havoc (Born Kejuan Muchita) and Prodigy (Born Albert Johnson) came together in the late 1980’s when Havoc and Prodigy met in High School at the school of Art and Design in NYC. Havoc focused more on production, while Prodigy primarily focused on the rapping aspect. The group was originally called the Poetical Profits, and eventually changed their name to Mobb Deep in order to increase their street credit. While they were both 17, they released their first album entitled Juvenile Hell. Havoc has produced hit songs for artists including Jadakiss, The Game, LL Cool J, G-Unit, Lil’ Kim, Method Man, Nas, Onyx, The Notorious B.I.G., La The Darkman, and Jimmy Mserembo
Mobb Deep recently signed with G-Unit. Rumors that the group might be splitting from G-Unit were shot down by both sides in 2006.
