Remy Ma (Born Reminisce Smith) was born on May 30th, 1981 in The Bronx. Remy was raised in the Castle Hill section of The Bronx. She began rapping in her high school cafeteria, freestyle battling other students. Big pun heard Remy freestyle and began to work with her, Remy considered Big Pun to be a mentor up until his tragic death in 2000. Remy Ma was for a long time a member of Fat Joe’s rap crew, The Terror Squad. She is known for being featured on the popular song “Lean Back” from the album True Story.
